The transport department's new strategy focuses on relieving transit bottlenecks and boosting passenger convenience through several key initiatives:

  • Deployment of Additional AC Buses: To beat the intense summer heat, a fresh fleet of air-conditioned buses is being deployed on high-demand inter-city routes, connecting major hubs like Delhi, Gurugram, Ambala, Hisar, and Chandigarh.

  • Digital Ticketing and Online Bookings: Commuters can now skip long queues at local bus stands. The transport authority has upgraded its online portal and mobile application, allowing seamless digital reservations and cashless payments on the go.

  • Real-Time GPS Tracking: To improve reliability, buses are systematically being equipped with GPS tracking systems, enabling passengers to view live arrival and departure schedules directly on their smartphones.
