Delhi News Info Desk:- The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE HQ) recently faced a sophisticated digital threat when malicious actors targeted its official marks verification and revaluation portal.
Right when thousands of students were attempting to submit critical recheck applications online, hackers bombarded the web servers.
CBSE IT security teams reported that the portal received over 1.5 million fake traffic hits within a concentrated two-minute window. Fortunately, an automated perimeter defense thwarted the breach, preserving student database integrity.
Understanding the Mechanics of a DoS Cyberattack
A Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack is a hostile cyber manipulation where threat actors attempt to render a website, server, or online network resource entirely unavailable to its legitimate users.
By flooding the host system with an overwhelming torrent of fake data requests, the target server's bandwidth and CPU processing cycles are exhausted, causing a total website server crash.
Such cybersecurity threats targeting educational infrastructure cause widespread public panic, delay critical deadlines, and stress national digital networks.
