Delhi-NCR weather update for June 2026. Weather conditions across Delhi-NCR have turned significantly cooler after the arrival of thunderstorms and widespread rainfall. The India Meteorological Department has issued weather warnings for the national capital region, forecasting additional showers, lightning activity and strong winds.

Residents of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad have already experienced cloudy skies and a noticeable drop in daytime temperatures. The rainfall has provided welcome relief from the prolonged heatwave conditions that affected the region earlier this month.

According to meteorologists, moisture-laden winds and active weather systems are creating favorable conditions for thunderstorm development. Wind speeds during storm activity could reach between 50 and 70 kmph in isolated areas.

Local authorities have advised citizens to avoid taking shelter under trees during thunderstorms and to remain cautious while driving on waterlogged roads. Power interruptions and temporary traffic disruptions may occur in some localities during periods of intense weather activity.

The current spell of rain is expected to support further cooling across the region while helping improve air quality levels. However, officials continue to urge residents to follow safety advisories and monitor official weather updates.

With the southwest monsoon advancing steadily, Delhi-NCR may witness more frequent rainfall events in the coming weeks.
